Superman's Fortress of Solitude HOUZZ Contest

The website invited designers from across the globe to put their own spin on the superhero's iconic Fortress of Solitude, transforming it into a real-life retreat using Houzz Pro's 3D Floor Planner.
Much like the latest installment of the movie franchise, the designs offer a very new and intriguing perspective on the well-known space—and create a world of possibility for anyone hankering after a Superman-inspired home of their own.
Three finalists were chosen from an array of entries, with Houzz users then invited to vote for their favorite
Blues, natural stones, and glass were included to keep within a true Superman style, but with modern amenities.

One of the most important features we wanted to capture in our design was the frozen tundra and cascade of icicles surrounding his solitude. The crystalized icicles offer a decorative and artistic feature we really wanted to be the main focus of our design.
Most importantly, I wanted to pay homage to the classic comics and films. Blues, natural stones, and glass were included to keep within a true Superman style, but with modern amenities.
When rummaging through the comic strips, many illustrations have one open great room and one icy grand entrance with views of the entire space. I immediately got the feel of the modern day equivalent of a loft. Masculine, open, icy, loft vibes.
