When clients have to opportunity to rebuild their entire home, they are able to put their own personal stamp on each room. During the design process for any project, we review what the client likes and dislike about their current home. We discuss storage needs in each space, entertainment style, daily habits, lifestyle requirements, and even pet needs. These clients in this Saratoga home, are a busy and active family. They entertain extended family and friends often and needed to make room for Grandma to move in, so it was imperative to include aspects of universal design to accommodate aging in place.
 

To create the open space these clients sought after we had to completely gut and reconfigure the entire home. We created a contemporary space by removing all the interior walls, bumped out the backside of the home to create a Master bedroom addition with walk-in closet and luxury bathroom, a grand great room addition complete with a stunning vaulted ceiling, three skylights, and installed new patio doors and windows. The result is a connected open space that provides a full view of the beautiful backyard and natural light for the entire area.

What was once a dark cramped master bedroom is now an open oasis, a retreat after a long day at the office. A custom double vanity and skylight added made for a dramatic bathing area filled with natural light. The kitchen remodel involved adding a pantry and custom cabinetry for an abundance of storage. A bar area for entertaining guests complete with a wine fridge, storage for glasses, and cabinetry for spirits and beverage mixers. Stealing the show, a large granite counter topped island, includes a large sink, a space for doggy dishes and plenty of drawer storage for two growing teens.
